The UK is committed to mobilising more private finance in order to tackle climate change and support sustainable development.
The Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP) was set up in 2015 to make high-risk and high-impact investments to unlock private capital, drive market transformation and provide clean, reliable power to first-time users across Sub-Saharan Africa.
REPP-supported projects have so far delivered electricity to nearly 1.4 million people and avoided over 180,000 tCO₂e. REPP is now transitioning from its active investment phase to managing its assets.
As an asset manager in 2024, REPP took the necessary steps to strengthen its governance and transparency and welcome Ladé Araba as Board Chair. On behalf of the FCDO, I welcome Ms. Araba as Board Chair and extend our appreciation to the REPP Board and all delivery partners for achieving REPP’s results.
